Located in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, Endres Insurance Agency, Inc. focuses on delivering a hometown experience and personalized insurance designed to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

“With more and more insurance available to purchase online, we know we need to stand out,” says agency President Mike Endres. “Customers don’t need to come into a brick-and-mortar location, and if we don’t provide outstanding service they will go somewhere else.”

Customers will never get an automated response when they call Endres Insurance, because speaking to an actual person is part of the hometown feel the agency aims to deliver. It also offers services you won’t often find at similarly sized agencies, including a dedicated claims advocate.

“That is a cost we’re willing to incur, because we believe in showing clients that we will be there for them every step of the way through a claim,” Mike says.

“Our overall success and growth have been built on amazing relationships our staff have with our clients,” Mike adds. “Our people are willing to put in the effort to create and maintain those customer connections.”

To deliver a deep level of expertise, Endres Insurance staff specialize in key business areas, including personal lines, agribusiness, small commercial, and life/health. Mike also personally exemplifies the agency’s overall service mentality. He was named Ron Von Haden PIA Agent of the Year in 2022, an award that recognizes agents who exhibit extraordinary dedication to the insurance industry, independent agents, and the Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin.

Mike joined what was then the Wagner Insurance and Financial agency in 2013 and purchased the business in 2017, changing its name to Endres Insurance. Over those past 10 years, business volume has doubled, staffing has grown to 11, and the agency more than doubled the size of its headquarters. Commercial lines growth has been driven in large part by agribusiness and trucking.

“We have been very successful placing trucking with Acuity,” Mike says. “Acuity is also a perfect fit for our service philosophy. I can assure our clients that if they have a claim, Acuity will be there for them.”

With farm consolidation leading to fewer opportunities in that market in the years ahead, the agency’s focus is on growing other lines of commercial business, expanding its personal lines book, and seeking acquisition opportunity.

“There are a few surrounding communities where we would love to have an office,” says Mike. “I definitely see us continuing to grow in the marketplace.”
