What is covered?

Equipment breakdown coverage is no longer simply for your boiler and machinery. Does your business use a computer or alarm system? What about heating systems in the winter and air conditioning systems in the summer? Acuity’s equipment breakdown coverage can protect all of this and more.

 

Acuity coverages

Acuity’s equipment breakdown coverage endorsement attaches to a property or Bis-Pak policy. The property or Bis-Pak® coverage you have is expanded to include loss due to equipment breakdown, and your business income coverage is extended to include breakdown losses. Also included are 5 additional coverages, including extra costs to make repairs and replace or restore electronic data.

One of the things I've had to deal with in both business models was ensuring products met the expectations of the end user or customer.

    Equipment breakdown is usually associated with a sudden event that causes operation to cease. Wear and tear occurs over time. 


    Coverage does not apply for that situation. However, if an accident results, coverage applies for the loss, damage, or expense caused by the accident.


    If multiple pieces of equipment fail at the same time, it will be considered a single event for claims purposes. That’s good news for you, as your deductible would only be applied once.
