Acuity Insurance has completed its planned leadership transition, and Melissa Winter is now CEO & President. This started three years ago with Melissa Winter’s appointment as President. Winter now officially assumes the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding longtime CEO Ben Salzmann, who has retired.

Acuity announced that AM Best has affirmed the insurer’s Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior) with a Stable outlook, marking the 24th consecutive year Acuity has earned the distinction and underscoring the company’s long-term financial strength and consistency.

Acuity has been named one of the top five insurers in the nation for claims service in the 2026 CRASH Network Insurer Report Card, earning a spot on the National Honor Roll with an A- grade. New business premium for the year reached nearly $600 million—almost double the amount written just three years ago—and the company added $300 million to its top line.
