We value and respect our customers’ privacy and are committed to protecting sensitive information. We encourage customers to review our privacy policy.

Acuity may use cookies to customize our site for return visitors. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer that is used collect information about your usage of a website and also enables a website to recognize you. A cookie will not allow a website to learn any personally identifiable information (such as your real name and address) that you have not otherwise disclosed. You can set your web browser to warn you about attempts to place cookies on your computer, or to limit the type of cookies you allow. Our website does not require you to use cookies, but it is possible that certain services may not function properly if you choose to refuse to receive a cookie.

Our website currently uses cookies to help with navigation on our website and to maintain access quality for users. We also use the following Google cookies:

Google Analytics: We use the Google Analytics tool, and specifically the Remarketing and the Demographics and Interest Reporting features within Google Analytics, to collect information about the use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We also use a Google Analytics feature called User ID which allows for a more accurate tracking of users by associating that user with the same ID over various sessions and devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets). User ID does not allow Google to personally identify an individual or permanently identify a particular device. We may use the User ID extension to connect data from Google Analytics with other data about you collected by this site so that we can better understand how you use this site and improve how we tailor our business and marketing activities. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

Google AdWords: We also use the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise to previous visitors to our site on third-party websites, such as Google. For example, Google AdWords would cause visitors to our site to see Acuity advertisements on the Google search results page or on a site in the Google Display Network. Google AdWords collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google AdWords with personally identifiable information. Although Google AdWords plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google AdWords about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google AdWords’ use of cookies by using the Google Ad Preferences page. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page.

Acuity may also use pixel tags, web beacons, or other similar technologies (each, a "Tag"). A Tag is a small section of code that can be added to the HTML in a variety of ways. When a Tag is triggered, either by HTML content containing the Tag being rendered or a user's interaction triggering the Tag, the Tag transmits anonymous, non-personally identifiable information to a server, such as a numeric count, unique identifier, or IP address. We use Tags in order to, among other things, track the actions of website users and email recipients, measure the success of our communications, compile statistics about website usage and response rates, and gauge the age ranges of the audience which viewed the videos on this website.

During the quoting process or while managing an existing account with Acuity, customers may be asked to divulge information such as their legal name, address, phone number, e-mail address, social security number, driver’s license number, date of birth, credit card information, family member information, or other personal statements of fact. In addition, we may collect data from third parties, including but not limited to, consumer reports that provide us with driving records, claim histories, and credit information. We use this information to provide customers with accurate quotes, underwrite and rate a policy, process claims, ensure appropriate billing, or provide general service to your account.

When you disclose personal information (customer information that is not public) to us or we obtain it from third parties, it remains with us. Acuity will not sell, trade, or rent any personal information about you to companies or organizations outside of Acuity except as permitted by law. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to employees who need to know that information, and we also inform our employees about the need to protect your personal information. Finally, whenever we share your personal information with organizations that provide support services, we also require them to protect your personal information.

We have established physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. Our site is protected with a variety of security measures such as change control procedures, passwords, and physical access controls. We also employ a variety of other mechanisms to ensure that data you provide is not lost, misused, or altered inappropriately. These controls include data confidentiality policies and regular database backups.
