Bailey Insurance & Risk Management, Inc. understands that for businesses, insurance is more than just a product.

“Insurance is about providing protection, and it’s also about solving complex risk management problems,” says Wes Bailey, Chairman of the Waco, Texas-headquartered firm.

Bailey Insurance integrates risk management practices and philosophies into its services that set it apart. It also has a wide range of skills and background among its staff, which includes certified risk managers and certified insurance counselors, as well as an educator, an attorney, a CPA, and a registered health underwriter.

“I believe we have a level of expertise that helps us identify risks and provide clients creative solutions for managing and avoiding those risks,” Wes says. “We are also able to handle challenging accounts—ones that need specialized coverages and services.”

Wes’s father, Bill Bailey, founded the agency in 1956 with the goal of not just offering clients the best possible coverage at the most affordable prices, but also pledging never to sell anyone insurance they didn’t need. “We’ve never strayed from the belief that honesty is the foundation of our business,” Wes says.

Over its years in business, the agency has seen many changes to the industry. New products have been developed to handle modern risks, such as cyber liability, and technology has transformed the way insurance business is done. The agency has also carved out some successful niches, including in the construction, manufacturing, and institutional sectors. But one thing that hasn’t changed at Bailey over time is a commitment to building and maintaining a team of experienced, well-educated insurance professionals.

“Our people are always looking for ways to get even better by constantly learning and pursuing continued education,” says Wes.

“We are tremendously fortunate to have such high-quality, kind-spirited people on our staff,” he adds. “They sincerely try to treat people the way they would want to be treated. The service standards they deliver simply surpass the competition.”

Looking to the future, the agency continues to invest in new talent. Wes’s daughter, Commercial Lines Manager Erin Simpson, also represents the third generation of Baileys in line to help perpetuate the agency.

“We’re proud of our 60-plus years of experience, but we also know how you need to keep working hard to keep an agency moving forward and not settle into complacency,” says Wes. “We’re excited about the people we have in place and who are going to lead the charge doing just that.”
