Our smartphones hold a lot of information and help organize our lives. With so many apps to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones are worth the storage space. Here are a few types of apps to consider for maintaining your vehicle and improving your driving experience.

Gas

There are smartphone apps that track gas prices in your area and can help you find the lowest gas price or nearest gas station. These apps can be useful for daily commutes, road trips, or any drive.

Navigation

Whether heading to a familiar destination or embarking somewhere new, navigation apps can find the best route, estimate how long the drive should take, alert of road construction or traffic patterns, and suggest places to stop along your journey.

Car Maintenance

Who likes remembering when to change the oil? Car management apps can show the history of your vehicle's maintenance and repairs and alert you when it is time for additional maintenance. You can also renew your vehicle’s registration, search for a mechanic, view the owner’s manual, or track mileage expenses if use your car for work.

Parking

Have you ever forgotten where you parked? There are apps that can keep track of where you parked (including pictures) and find and reserve parking spots. No more parking tickets!

Insurance

Check if your auto insurance company has an app. Acuity does! You can access your ID card for proof of coverage, get a reminder when your bill is due, find claims information, make changes to your policy, get helpful tips and tricks – and more!

Driving Performance

Apps can track speeding, extreme braking or accelerating events, and distracted driving – which can help improve your driving. For new or teen drivers, the number of hours required for licensing can be recorded.

There are numerous other types of car apps for your smartphone. Want to know where to get your car washed? Looking to buy, sell, or rent a vehicle? Where is the next electric charging station? Apps can provide reminders of routine items and guidance on new options. They can save time and money as well. While some apps are free, others are not. Do some research and check out the reviews before downloading. Have fun!
