Acuity is committed to being a part of the local communities in which we operate and could not exist without the support of those communities. In turn, we extend our support to community and charitable organizations, both on a corporate and individual level.
Together, Acuity and the Acuity Charitable Foundation contribute to dozens of organizations. In 2017, we donated nearly $1.3 million to charitable causes. According to benchmarking organization Ward Group, we donate 300 percent of what other corporations of our size give to charity.
We have been a longstanding supporter of facilities, programs, and initiatives that provide needed healthcare services in the community and advance the level of care that patients of all ages can receive. We have donated millions to local hospitals, and the annual Acuity Health Challenge run/walk benefits many health and wellness initiatives in the community.
Acuity has funded many capital improvements to area school districts as well as the Acuity Technology Center at UW-Sheboygan. The Acuity headquarters campus has established a reputation for hosting educational events and academic competitions throughout the year for area schools. Acuity supports the arts through contributions and in-kind donations.
We host many events over the course of the year that benefit community causes. Our employees are actively involved in the community through workplace initiatives, such as school supply and holiday gift drives, and on an individual level.
