Acuity Flagpole to Undergo Routine Painting

July 25, 2019

Starting Monday, July 29, repainting of the flagpole at Acuity’s headquarters will begin, part of routine maintenance regularly performed to keep the pole in top condition and extend its life. During the repainting process, which  is expected to take a month to complete, the flag will not be able to be flown. Acuity anticipates raising the flag again by August 30.

In May 2014, Acuity completed construction of the World’s Tallest Symbol of Freedom, a 400-foot flagpole flying an American flag measuring 140 feet wide by 70 feet high. The flagpole is one of the most visible landmarks on the Interstate 43 corridor, and was constructed as a symbol of gratitude to our country and those who defend it. At the base of the pole is a Veterans Memorial, which features the names of every Sheboygan County veteran who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.
