Acuity Health Challenge to Benefit Women’s and Children’s Health

The 2018 Acuity Health Challenge, held July 21, features a 2-mile or 5K run/walk. All funds raised from this year's event will be used to advance maternal and pediatric care in the community. 

 

"The Acuity Health Challenge is a natural extension of our commitment to wellness and community support,” said Ben Salzmann, Acuity President and CEO.

 

Proceeds from the 2018 Acuity Health Challenge will support the expansion of pediatric care in the community. This includes providing families with the continuum of care, beginning with neonatology through primary and secondary care, with the goal of helping patients and their families stay close to home. This includes creation of a maternal fetal medicine high-risk clinic and development of Sheboygan’s first NICU transport program, as well as the expansion of pediatric specialty care, particularly for neurology, pulmonology, endocrinology, and gastrointestinal fields.

 

The Acuity Health Challenge begins at 8:00 a.m. at UW-Sheboygan, located at 1 University Drive. Participants and spectators should park in the north parking structure of Acuity’s Corporate Headquarters at 2800 South Taylor Drive, as there is no race-day parking at the university. Shuttle service will be provided. The event also features a large Vendor Expo, located at the start/finish line.

 

The top female and male 5K runners each receive $500. In addition, trophies will be awarded to the top overall runners and the top runner in each age group. Medals will be given to all registered participants under the age of 10. Participants also receive a race T-shirt and large goodie bag.
