National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 9-15, 2018, is when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. To commemorate the event and celebrate drivers nationwide, Acuity Insurance is sponsoring its second annual National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Essay Contest.

“The 3.5 million professional men and women in trucking have a tremendous impact on keeping our country running, and almost 80 percent of U.S. communities depend solely on the trucking industry to deliver their goods and commodities,” said Cliff Johnson, Acuity Trucking Specialist. “Acuity recognizes the significant contributions of professional truck drivers and the sacrifices their families make in keeping our country moving forward.”  

Children with family members in trucking are invited to answer the question, “How is the trucker in your family a hero to you or others?” The contest will consist of three age groupings: elementary school, middle school, and high school. Each age grouping will have multiple prizes.
