Acuity has been named a 2026 Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award for Ethics winner, one of the organization’s highest honors recognizing companies that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to integrity and ethical business practices. The BBB Torch Award for Ethics celebrates organizations that go beyond compliance to embed trust, transparency, and accountability into every aspect of their operations.

“We’re honored to be recognized with the BBB Torch Award for Ethics,” said Acuity President and CEO Melissa Winter. “At Acuity, doing the right thing is the foundation of how we serve our customers, support our employees, and engage with our communities. This recognition reflects the dedication of our team to upholding those values every day.”

Acuity was selected by an independent panel of judges composed of business and community leaders. Judges evaluated entries based on four key areas: character, culture, customers, and community, which are hallmarks of organizations that build and sustain trust. The recognition marks the second time Acuity has received the award, having earned the distinction in 2022, the most recent prior year it was eligible to apply.

Since 2003, BBB has honored businesses and nonprofit organizations of all sizes that exemplify its mission of advancing marketplace trust by maintaining the highest standards of ethics and accountability.

“The BBB Ethics Awards application process is both rigorous and meaningful, requiring organizations to reflect on and articulate their commitment to character, culture, customers, and community impact,” said Julie Albrecht, Executive Director of the BBB of Wisconsin Foundation. “These organizations exemplify what it means to lead with integrity and should be proud of their efforts.”

Acuity’s commitment to ethics is reflected in both its business practices and its culture. The company emphasizes long-term relationships over short-term gains, empowering employees to make principled decisions that prioritize customers and partners. This approach is reinforced through ongoing ethics training, transparent communication, and a strong focus on accountability at every level of the organization.

Beyond the workplace, Acuity actively invests in the communities it serves through philanthropic initiatives, volunteerism, and support for local organizations. By aligning its business success with positive community impact, Acuity demonstrates that ethical leadership extends beyond the workplace and into everyday actions that strengthen trust and improve lives.
