CSR of the Month: Mike Thompson

In 1974, Mike Thompson started his career in the insurance industry working for an inspection company. He joined an insurance carrier as an underwriter a few years later and moved to the agency side of the business in 1991. Nine years ago, he joined Stafford-Leavitt Insurance in Harrisonville, Missouri, as a Commercial Account Manager and intends to finish out his long and successful career there.

“Mike has been a staple presence in our office since we hired him and, as we approach his retirement, one of the things we will miss about him is all his years of experience. However, what we will miss most is his personality that makes him endeared to all his coworkers,” says Josh Stafford, Managing Partner. 

Over his career, Mike has found that building trust is the foundation of great customer service. “You have to show customers that you know what you are doing and that they can trust you,” he says. “You have to always be honest and let the facts speak for themselves.”

Mike enjoys the diverse work in commercial lines and the relationships he has made with both clients and colleagues. “We have a great group of people here who are all readily available to assist in any way,” he says.

“I appreciate Mike’s hard work over the years for his insureds and the agency. Mike has always been pro-Acuity, and I will miss working with him greatly. I wish Mike well in his well-deserved retirement. Thanks for everything, Mike!” says Trevor Tanck, Commercial Underwriter.

“It has been a pleasure working with Mike these last nine years,” adds Senior Commercial Field Underwriter John Thayer. “Mike has always been a very big advocate of Acuity and the products that we sell. He will be tremendously missed, and I wish him well in his retirement!”
