Like almost every industry, auto repair has been disrupted by the use of technology. Vehicles are becoming more personalized, networked, and higher priced. Many are equipped with technology that can assist a driver in the case of an accident and refer a customer to your shop based on your OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certification.

Some may tell you that the hype around 3D printing is fake—that this technology has been around since the 1980s and is nothing new. But I am here to tell you 3D printing is no longer just hype. 3D printing, or additive manufacturing, has advanced and is here to stay.

Like many industries, construction has changed quite a bit in the past 10 to 15 years. I remember the industry 40 years ago, when I started in it, and it looks nothing like the construction of today. When I talk to contractors who have been in the construction industry as long as I have, we end up reminiscing about how the industry was when we first began. There seems to be a connection as we share with each other how we used to do things—things that this generation today will never experience.
