As a former general contractor, I know the stressful feeling that comes as bid day approaches. You are busy finalizing the numbers to submit to the owner and making sure you have everything covered. In the days leading up to this, you are reviewing and comparing subcontractors’ bids to make sure each proposal has everything it needs when one contractor stops and another picks up. Many contractors have their busy season. In those times, it can be next to impossible to expand into new things. So, when things slow down, as they often do after the holiday season, it may be a good time to research new technology that can help your company this year.
Did you know that buildings move? I’m not talking about earthquakes or houses or sheds relocated by building movers. If architects, engineers, and contractors don’t take building movement through expansion and contraction into consideration throughout the entire building process, it can cause serious consequences down the road. There are many phases to a construction project, and one of those is closing out the job. Closing out the job properly is a big part of successfully completing the entire project. In my experience, finishing well speaks volumes to the customer and helps set the stage for possible future projects.

It doesn't matter how large or small a construction project is—a properly managed job site is critical to the success of the project and how the contractor is viewed by their client.
