4 Decorating Trends to Watch in 2018

The saying “out with the old, in with the new” has many applications, but it can be especially relevant in conversations around decorating a home. Much of what is considered “in” is based on the style of the times, which is why many trends can be tied back to a specific decade.

While it's doubtful people will be too critical of using 2017 style in 2018, here are a few trends you might see in the year ahead.

Use of color. This can make the space feel warmer than just having white walls. Depending on what room you are painting, choosing tones that go with the other furniture in the room can really make a statement.
Natural elements. Stone, concrete, and granite all look to be popular in 2018 and can be seen anywhere from sinks and counter tops to accent pieces.
Bold patterns. Floral makes a comeback? Designers are predicting a returned popularity for floral patterns with bold color and patterns.
Wallpaper. Many designers are predicting new pattern styles and uses that will make the 2018 version of wallpaper different than before.
