Acuity released its 2017 financial results, which showed that the insurer surpassed $2 billion in policyholders’ surplus (GAAP) for the first time in the company’s history. Acuity’s statutory surplus grew at 13.3 percent in 2017, compared to just 1.0 percent for the industry.

During regular business hours, a customer can start an automated chat at The billing bot is initially designed to handle simple and common queries, allowing Acuity’s billing representatives to focus on more complex inquiries.

Acuity Insurance announced that, at a Town Hall meeting of its staff, employees determined the distribution of a special year-end contribution of a half-million dollars among six different organizations. Those organizations included Conquer Cancer Foundation, Feeding America, Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, The Salvation Army, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and Mental Health America.
